Are the access conditions handicap-friendly?

Our outdoor tables and restaurant (with a few steps up) are easy to access. Our ferry has a slightly longer gangway, so please contact us if you need more information to help you plan your arrival and departure.

What are the parking options?

Paid parking is primarily available in the area around Strandgade (green paid parking zone). We recommend checking the signs, as rules may vary from street to street. There is also a parking garage nearby on Strandgade. Otherwise, it’s easy to get here by metro and bus.

Can you accommodate special dietary needs, such as vegan, vegetarian, and allergies?

Yes, we always have vegetarian options, and we can usually customize the menu. Just let us know when you book, so we can be prepared.

How do I book a large party?

We love celebrating birthdays. Whether it's an 18th, 100th, or a milestone birthday, we'll put flags on the table and celebrate your special day.

There are many ways to celebrate your birthday with us. For example, if you want to gather seven of your best friends for open-faced sandwiches, draft beer, and schnapps, Færgecaféen is the place to be. But we are just as happy to host a big 50th birthday party, where the entire ferry is yours with a three-course menu, open bar, DJ, and dancing.

Only your imagination sets the limits for your birthday at Færgecaféen. It's your day, so whatever you want, you shall have.

Celebrate your birthday with a 2-hour lunch event featuring assorted open-faced sandwiches. Large platters, enough for everyone, and two hours of quality time. Or set aside a little more time—3 or 4 hours—and choose the Captain’s Small or Large Lunch Menu—or treat yourself to a classic three-course meal.

If you’d rather celebrate for just one evening, we also offer a shorter and a longer option. Book our 4-hour three-course menu with delicious drinks or the Captain’s Grand Evening Menu. Or go all out with a 7-hour event and all-you-can-drink.

  I’ve visited the Christianshavn Ferry Café many, many times and even celebrated my 30th birthday there. It’s always worth a visit—for tourists and locals alike.   I have nothing but good things to say...😊. On Saturday, June 15, 2019, I rented the space on the Christianhavn ferry to celebrate my 60th birthday... The food was delicious, plentiful, and beautifully presented... Huge kudos to our “sailor” Daniel, who was always smiling, polite, and quick to notice when we needed something. The only downside was the dessert—I’d chosen ice cream with fresh fruit, but we were served pistachio ice cream, which several guests didn’t care for... One of my guests, however, was able to swap theirs for a different type of ice cream. Personally, I wish I’d been told beforehand that it would be pistachio ice cream. I could also have asked myself what kind of ice cream they’d be serving—it goes both ways, and it’s just a small detail. I’ll definitely be back another time.

  A truly wonderful dining experience. We celebrated a good friend’s birthday—he’d never been there before, but he’ll definitely be coming back. We had a super delicious lunch with two sandwiches each and were more than full. We had a good beer, and once we’d finished it, we ordered another, but then something unfortunate happened: one of them was knocked over in the heat of the moment—but no worries, help arrived right away and a new one was brought to the table immediately. The staff are so sweet and friendly, even though it was very busy that day. We’re looking forward to our next visit.

Our ferry is moored in Wilders Kanal next to our restaurant in Strandgade. The ferry is a converted fireboat with its own bar, toilets, and sun deck. There is room for 40 seated guests below deck and 18 seated guests on the sun deck, which is covered and heated when the season requires it.

The ferry provides the perfect setting for your private event, such as a birthday party, where you want a little privacy.

If you are hosting an evening event, we are happy to convert the boat into a dance floor and bar so you can let your hair down.

If you are planning to hold your party in the summer, the top deck of the ferry is an ideal place to enjoy the view of the canal, the company, and the delicious food from Kabyssen.
