Copenhagen's coziest Easter lunch

At Christianshavns Færgecafé, we love cozy get-togethers and holidays, and Easter is no exception!

At Christianshavns Færgecafé, we love cosiness and celebrations – and Easter is no exception! Here, we serve our traditional Easter lunch with herring, salmon, fish fillets and all the trimmings.

Our Easter lunch is available in two versions: the small Easter lunch table for light appetites and the large Easter lunch table with both cold and hot dishes, served in several courses at the table. The Captain's Easter table is also served in the evening by advance booking.

We celebrate Easter from Tuesday, March 24 to Monday, April 6.

Curry herring with shallot cream and apple

Cured salmon with dill and mustard dressing

Chicken salad with bacon and mushrooms

Juicy rib roast with red cabbage and cucumber salad

449 per person (min. 2 people) Must be chosen by the whole table – served in 3 courses.

Pan-fried fish fillet with remoulade

Egg and shrimps with dill mayonnaise

Cured salmon with dill and mustard sauce


Second serving

Puffed pastry with chicken and mushrooms

Meatballs with pickled cucumber

Juicy rib roast with red cabbage and cucumber salad

Beer and schnapps for your Easter lunch

Every good Danish lunch should be accompanied by good beer and a wide selection of the same. At Færgecaféen, we have eleven taps in use, and the selection of beers varies with the season. If you like schnapps, we can recommend this year's hand-blended Easter schnapps, which goes perfectly with an Easter lunch.
Let us pour you a draft beer from one of our eleven taps, or choose from our selection of bottled beers.

Our schnapps menu also features more than 30 hand-blended schnapps and a hand-picked selection of aquavits from the best producers.

The Ferry Café has Easter for everyone

The captain's and sailor's Easter table should indeed be ordered by everyone, but remember: when you order an Easter table, we are happy to accommodate guests who are vegetarians or similar.

For example, a pescetarian can easily eat on the first serving, which is pure fish (salmon, herring, shrimp and fish fillet), after which the galley then serves a vegetarian or fish main course to the pescetarian, while the rest of the table enjoys roast beef etc.
